Discover the World of Branding Newsletter

This article is essentially my welcome primer email to the newsletter.
I wanted to write a bit about the job this newsletter is aiming to accomplish.
The World of Branding is your weekly boost in branding knowledge. I strive to provide valuable tips and info on branding strategy and implementation. From practical and actionable info to theoretical topics, The World of Branding is meant to help you transform the way you brand yourself and your business.
I also want to throw in some description of my philosophy of branding, and marketing in a broader sense. If you stay on the email newsletter list, which I hope you do, you’ll probably be subjected to my opinions on random things enough to get an understanding of where I’m coming from.
If you really don’t care about my personal opinions and just want to learn some useful and interesting branding tips and info, which is quite understandable, feel free to skip the rest of this email and check out the next one, where we start building a foundation of branding to help you succeed in your marketing efforts!
I went to school for marketing and got an MBA several years ago. Before school and after school I was always studying and working in the digital marketing space to some extent.
So after a good 10 years of going down the digital marketing road I started to have some altered and slightly out-of-the-mainstream opinions. Especially after having a couple kids, my perception of marketing and advertising took a fairly big turn.
I realized much of marketing can be manipulative and subversive. This could easily be common knowledge to everybody else but I never really thought of how obnoxious marketing can be.
Especially marketing that targets children.
So in branding, which is essentially a subject under the broader term of marketing, it’s extremely important to keep in mind who you’re targeting and the intention behind your strategy.
Its insanely valuable in the long run to prioritize integrity and honor while promoting and building your brand. It isn’t always easy to do but it has to be done. So in my newsletter that will always be an underlying theme. I hope you are on board with that as well.
Also on that note, feel free to contact me if you want to discuss my own marketing efforts or you have some input from your own experience on the topic of ethical marketing.
Keep a look out for the next email in this welcome series. I put together a quick primer on branding, and think it will be a good way to get started with the weekly newsletter.
